I have built a BBQ pit or two in my day. Nothing major yet. Barrel pits/smokers, a grill made from an old water heater. Yep, I'm a welder with some free time and a freakish desire to build the ultimate cooker to smoke or grill dead meat in or on. I can't help it! It's a possession.
One thing I learned a long time ago is that some parts for these cookers can be scavenged, other parts can be fabricated, but it pays to find a great supplier for the critical parts and I have one for you today. The link below is one of the best I've found to help you locate hard to find, top shelf parts at reasonable prices.
